Students who are not in the classroom when the bell rings are tardy. Students picking up readmit slips for a previous absence must be in class at 8:00 am or they will be marked tardy. Attendance windows open at 7:00 am. Tardies are cumulative by semester. Tardy procedures are listed below.

• First Tardy - Teacher counsels student and assigns detention.

• Second and Third Tardy - Teacher counsels student, assigns detention, and contacts the parent or guardian by Teleparent, community liaison contact, or personal telephone call. 
  

• Fourth Tardy – Student is referred to the counselor. The counselor assigns detention and contacts the parent or guardian.

• Fifth and Sixth Tardy - Student is referred to the assistant principal and a Saturday School is assigned. Parents are notified of the Saturday school and a possible drop from the class for future tardies.

• Subsequent Tardies - Student is referred to the assistant principal. The student may be dropped from the class with a semester grade of “F”. Parents are notified.

School wide tardy sweeps will also be conducted throughout the school day to ensure students are getting to class on time. Students caught in a tardy sweep will receive a detention.
